Art Nouveau and Art Deco characterise a period where different art styles appeared in quick succession and flourished within a short period. The result was a form of expression that increasingly captivated Marleen Deiters.

Marleen learned to view art from an early age, and has developed a taste for travel. She felt completely at home working at a gallery in France. This was the source of her passion for applied art from the Art Nouveau and Art Deco periods. When she decided to return to the Netherlands, she had built up a fine collection herself. Partly because of this, Marleen started her own art trade and spent 15 years buying and selling in her gallery and at international fairs. She built up a large clientele base and has handled many unique items.

This knowledge is extremely useful in her work as an auctioneer. She sees assessing lots as a privilege and a great challenge, and enjoys fostering good relationships with both bidders and sellers. So Marleen can be quite proud when she presents a diverse auction with lovely objects.
