Jeroen Hamelink developed a love of vinyl at a young age. He enjoyed browsing through his parents’ collection and choosing something to listen to. He still enjoys the whole experience of putting on a record. Jeroen has also built up an impressive collection of vinyl and CDs. This is in part thanks to his work as a branch manager in a record shop, where he came across thousands of records and CDs and learned the market inside and out. He now uses that knowledge at Catawiki.

Despite the advent of digital listening options, Jeroen notes that there is increasing demand for vinyl. And not just from collectors. More and more young people prefer to buy their music on vinyl, in addition to having a digital copy. They are often interested in the classics like Led Zeppelin, The Doors and The Beatles records. Jeroen also focuses on lesser-known genres using themed auctions, where a lot of vinyl is on offer. This helps him to create multifaceted auctions, with real gems for vinyl connoisseurs and good quality popular vinyl for enthusiasts.
