You only need a good book and your imagination to visit all corners of the world.
Mark Harrison surrounded himself with books from a young age. Even before he learned to read, you would find him with a book in his hands. At a later age, he started collecting books extensively, where the first editions of works by T.S. Elliot had his special attention. When his collections and the number of doubles increased, he also started selling, which became his profession for twenty years. You will find Mark Harrison at fairs large and small and as organiser he is responsible for one of the largest fairs in the world: the London ILEC fair.
As an auctioneer Mark Harrison encounters a large variety of books. Thanks to his experience, he is able to single out interesting books immediately. He faultlessly recognises the editions, the publishers and the authors that collectors are looking for. When he is in doubt about the price, Mark Harrison consults the archives, which describe the market value of books from the past hundreds of years. Personally, he is particularly charmed by travel writing with beautiful illustrations. At the same time he knows that the most interesting books don't have to look good. ‘Don’t judge a book by it’s cover!’
