I have seen the publishing industry from every perspective.
Kurt Salchli has always been an avid reader. He earned his first pocket money at a library for children's books. With his degree in economics, he decided to concentrate on the book industry. When he was 24 he opened his first book shop with new and antiquarian books. Keen on travelling, Kurt Salchli started various bookshops in Paris and later he even started a publishing house for which he travelled across Europe and built an important network of writers, illustrators, publishers and shopkeepers.
Thanks to his time in France, Kurt Salchli knows quite a bit of French. Consequently, he primarily takes on the German and French literature auctions. He encounters a great variety of books. Many of which he has never sold or published himself. Like no other he knows how to value these books. Kurt Salchli especially takes into account the international character of the auctions. Due to this international nature, bidders from all over the world have the opportunity to obtain books that they otherwise would never have found in their local bookstore.
