The most beautiful jewellery is still produced using ancient techniques.
The first time Lara Geijsen was truly captivated by jewellery was when she was organising fashion photo shoots for an Indian magazine. She travelled the world for this job and she was able to use the most beautiful jewellery, which is something they absolutely love in India. Afterwards, she worked in India for half a year and she, too, grew attached to the beautiful jewellery, decorated with gemstones. She visited various goldsmiths to study their old techniques and once she returned to Europe, she signed up for a course in gemmology at the British Gemmological Association. In addition, she gained work experience at Bonebakker, the renowned jeweller that produced the Royal Crown of the Netherlands in 1840.
As an auctioneer, Lara Geijsen combines her theoretical and practical knowledge to evaluate the offered objects. Thereby, she hopes that her huge passion for jewellery is reflected in her varied listings. Either way, Lara Geijsen always asks for the best possible photos. To be able to appraise the object accurately, but also to present it in an appealing way. Appearance is also important, after all. And if the carefully selected gemstones change hands, then she secretly wonders how and where their journey will continue.
