I like trains a lot!
Model trains are part of Simon Ungefug's first memories. Every weekend he travelled with his father across the country to the next model train fair. At first he found these trains boring; they all looked the same. Until he learned more about them. He learned to recognise types, distinguish brands and appreciate finishes. And because he was not allowed to touch his father's collection, Simon Ungefug started his own. Since then he has been captivated for life by the fascinating world of model trains.
Evaluating model trains has become second nature for Simon Ungefug. He knows them over and over, which has resulted in an infallible database in his mind. He is mostly fascinated by the trains after the Second World War. That period produced a wide variety of engine types and designs. Variety is also important for Simon Ungefug in his auctions, including rare pieces for the real collector and regular trains. The latter is especially appreciated by international bidders. Catawiki makes it a lot easier for them to build a beautiful collection.
