I dropped my law studies to work with jewellery.
Prior to her side-job at a Brazilian jeweller, Patricia Schitter had no special interest in gemstones or jewellery. This soon changed. The great variety of gems that passed under her eyes unleashed a new passion within her. With this, Patricia Schitter did not hesitate for a moment and switched from her law degree to study gemology. It turned out to be a golden opportunity because soon she worked for the largest fashion houses, including Cartier, Bulgari and Dolce & Gabbana, travelling the whole world to the biggest fairs and the most important traders.
Just when Patricia Schitter was ready for something new, Catawiki came on her radar, which allows her to still be busy with her passion every day. Thanks to her experience in the high-end jewellery market, she knows exactly how to handpick quality jewellery, even when they are not by well-known brands. As a visual person, photos are very important for Patricia Schitter. These must go hand in hand with an accurate description, a priority when compiling her auctions. She approaches every auction as an exhibition: each must have the best possible presentation and lots that complement each other perfectly.
