Minerals are like individuals. All of them different and unique.
It was at primary school when Trevor Boyd's teacher took the class to the beach to find fossils. Lo and behold, he found his first fossils and a piece of pyrite. From that moment, a lifelong passion was born. During his education, he followed as many geological subjects as possible and exclusively spent his days off searching for minerals and fossils. It stayed that way for a long time. Therefore, Trevor Boyd decided to acquire further knowledge through a study of environmental sciences. With his degree, he started his own online trade in minerals and fossils.
For Trevor Boyd, a job as auctioneer at Catawiki felt like a natural transition. He enjoys his passion every day. At the same time, he puts Catawiki on the map in Ireland and the UK. He does so personally through exhibitions, but also by creating the most popular auctions. Trevor Boyd focuses on diversity, with minerals that are highly appreciated internationally. As the auction becomes more popular, he hopes to present even more rare items. In addition, he aims to attract the big collectors to Catawiki alongside the general public.
