I've been hooked on guitars ever since I saw Slash playing live.
Robin Hiemstra was 12 years old when his father took him to see Guns N’ Roses live in the Goffert Park in Nijmegen, The Netherlands. The image of legendary guitarist Slash with his impressive solos left a lasting impression. At that moment, his never-ending fascination for guitars was born. After saving some money, he bought a Les Paul imitation model. This was the modest start of a large collection, which he is constantly expanding and renewing. Robin Hiemstra moves slowly but surely through the guitar market and combines his knowledge of guitars and his study (commercial economics) to successfully buy and sell.
Sooner or later, an expert like Robin Hiemstra finds his way to Catawiki. As an auctioneer, he manages the regular Guitar auction, and also various themed auctions. Signed guitars of great artists, vintage Fenders and exclusive Gibsons regularly pass by. Due to his experience, Robin Hiemstra knows exactly what to look for. Quality, year of construction and condition are all essential features. Yet his own knowledge remains the most important. As a collector, he knows exactly what you can run into. He always thinks of the bidders and sellers, so everyone can be successful in his auctions.
