A watch is all about the story it tells.
There has always been a seller inside Romain Marsot. Already at the age of six, he was selling the discarded brocante furniture of his parents in a captivating way. At that same age, he began to wear watches. Already at that time he loved these intriguing objects. According to him, along with cufflinks, a watch is the most important piece of jewellery for a man. Romain Marsot has always worked in the (second-hand) watch industry. As a manager, he worked in Paris, Cannes and Lyon for France's largest watch shop. After a few years, it was time to set up his own business, combining a web shop and physical store.
With his work experience, Romain Marsot has a large network throughout France. He uses this network to make his watch auction the best and greatest of France. He wants to achieve this especially with vintage watches, for which there is great demand. Classic models of Rolex, such as the Submariner, Datejust and Daytona are particularly popular. According to Romain Marsot, these watches are so popular because of the historical context and the fascinating stories they tell, stories to which bidders on Catawiki can add their own exciting chapter.
