Art is an integral part of who I am, my way of life and connecting to my family.
Coming from a family of art collectors, Blanca Marsal was already very comfortable around museums, fairs and auctions at a young age. It was no surprise then, that she started a fine arts study and continued studying for an art business master’s degree in Los Angeles. During her studies she worked as a certified appraiser and art advisor. This gave Blanca Marsal lots of appraising experience and knowledge of the art market. She now applies that knowledge to the Spanish art market, which was also the subject of her master’s thesis.
Blanca Marsal’s main expertise at Catawiki is the Classical Art auction. Her appraising experience and keen eye is invaluable for screening the many lots she evaluates daily. With her background as an art advisor, she likes to be in touch with her sellers. That way she determines the right prices and presents the lots as accurately as possible. Blanca Marsal works hard to contribute to the awareness of Catawiki in Spain. This way, more people get to know the great works currently present in Spanish collections, once they finally make their appearance on Catawiki.
