Original political cartoon from Germany done on card in pencil and dated 10.1.27, no mention of if and where it was published. The title "Proletarier erwache es nahen Deine Feinde - Hunger u. Krieg!" translates as "Proletarian awake, your enemies approach - Hunger and war!", and relates to the economic and political situation in Weimar Republic Germany during the 1920s. This rather morbid drawing shows a dreaming nude man being approached by incarnations of war and hunger. Card size 18.5 x 13 cm (7.1 x 5.1 inch), image size 15 x 10 cm (5.7 x 3.7 inch). In very good condition.
