Bin-jip (Korean: 빈집 (empty house)) is a 2004 South Korean film directed by Kim Ki-duk. In a number of countries in the west the film was released under the name 3-Iron. Bin-jip was nominated for the best director award at the 2004 Venice Film Festival. Kim Ki-duk [1] (Bongwha, December 20, 1960) is a South Korean film director. From 1990 to 1992 he studied in Paris. After returning to Korea, Kim started as a screenwriter. In 1993 he won first prize in a competition of the Screenwriting Training Institute. [2] In 1996 he made his directorial debut with Crocodile. For his film Samaritan Girl he received the prize for best director at the Berlin International Film Festival in 2004.
