Details

Funckler / Artone A legendary label from the late 50s, early 60s. Founded with money from Dutch oil barons with a jazz hobby. John Vis and Pete Felleman had the vision to release LPs and EPs in the famous plastic sleeves of labels such as Chess, Roulette, Cadence, Specialty etc. in the Netherlands from the early 1960s. Also many singles from the starting Motown motorcity label. Beautiful photo covers, often a full page in the Muziek Expres since 1962. Artone of Funckler was the label. I assume that Marshall Chess has lobbied here as in the UK for reissues of his Chess label. The story should be well described. Anyway, the label produced many legendary sleeve singles that are very sought after by collectors. The LPs then for sale for 9.90 are still for sale for a reasonable price. So this is an LP from that series.
