The Postcheque- en Girodienst (Abbreviated to PCGD, later known as Postgiro) was a Dutch financial institution that existed between 1918 and 1977 and was part of the PTT. In 1977 the Postgiro and Rijkspostspaarbank (RPS) became one and in 1979 the Gemeentegiro Amsterdam (GGA) was taken over. In 1986 the Postgiro/Rijkspostspaarbank was privatized and the Postbank was created.
