The Hall of Fame for Great Americans at New York University was begun in 1900 with bronze portrait busts of the honorees lining an open-air colonnade. Beginning in 1962 medals were issued to honor the existing and future inductees. Medals were issued in two sizes: 76mm in Bronze and 44mm in both Bronze and Silver. Ninety four different medals were issued by the Medallic Art Company.
