Buffalo or Elephant Bell named “Chu”, from the region of Bagan. Wonderful patina due to the bell’s age.
There is a metal ball inside of the bell which produces the sound.
It is decorated with two crowns of stylised motifs, including flowers and foliage, and also 4 birds.
Cire perdue (lost wax) technique, each bell is unique.
Weight: 519 grams. Dimensions: height 12 cm; diameter 9 cm. 20 cm high including the stand.
Around the 19th century.
Sold with a custom-made stand in steel.
CAUTION, the first pictures were taken with artificial lighting, the bell is naturally darker, like on the four last pictures.
Good condition, but it bears the traces of its age and use, with a very ancient native restoration (have a look at the pictures).
