Bechar 007 – Newly Officially Classified Lunar Meteorite – Striking Slice of a Feldspathic Lunar Breccia
Offered here is a very attractive slice of the lunar meteorite Bechar 007, presented in a high-quality display and with an appearance that immediately shows this is something special.
Bechar 007 is newly officially classified and is listed in the Meteoritical Bulletin as a Lunar meteorite (feldspathic breccia). The meteorite was found in June 2022 near Bechar, Algeria, and published in Meteoritical Bulletin 112.
What makes this slice especially appealing is its visual presence. The photos show a dark, dense lunar matrix, crossed by lighter feldspathic areas and delicate internal structures that give the piece depth and character. That combination is exactly what makes the slice so desirable: not busy or chaotic, but clear, strong, and highly aesthetic. It has a powerful, original look while still feeling refined and elegant.
As a slice, this specimen has a special appeal because it reveals the inner character of the material directly. Unlike a complete natural stone, a slice allows the structure of the meteorite itself to be seen immediately. The dark groundmass, the lighter inclusions, and the natural lines give the piece a very attractive, almost graphic appearance. That makes it not only scientifically interesting, but also visually a true collector’s specimen.
Feldspathic lunar breccias are among the most desirable lunar meteorites because they are linked to the ancient lunar crust and often show a very distinctive appearance. Bechar 007 is an officially recognized example of this rare lunar material, and that is exactly what makes a slice like this especially interesting for collectors.
The presentation also suits the specimen perfectly. In the display box, the slice appears clean, elegant, and immediately ready for exhibition. The result is a very refined overall impression that further enhances the exclusivity of the piece.
Overall, this is a very attractive piece of the Moon: newly officially classified, visually strong, beautifully presented, and with an internal structure that immediately catches the eye.
A rare and highly appealing specimen for any serious meteorite or lunar collection.
As a member of the International Meteorite Collectors Association (IMCA #7379) and the Global Meteorite Association (GMA #G0117), I guarantee the authenticity of every meteorite I offer. Each specimen is delivered with a certificate – for an authentic, secure, and certified purchase.
Thank you and good luck!
