Calcit mit Hämatit-Einschlüssen aus dem Tsumeb-Minengebiet, Otavi Mountainland, Namibia, scharfe rhomboedrische Kristalle in gestaffelten Aggregaten, Gewicht 598 g, Abmessungen 13 cm x 8 cm x 7 cm.
Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
A stunning and substantial collector's specimen from the world-famous Tsumeb Mine, Namibia. This piece features an intense terracotta-red coloration, caused by microscopic hematite inclusions within the calcite matrix.
Highlights of this Specimen:
Crystal Habit: Beautifully formed, rhombohedral calcite crystals arranged in aesthetic, stepped (scalariform) aggregates. The geometry of the crystals is sharp and highly defined.
Locality: Tsumeb Mine, Otavi Mountainland, Namibia. As the mine has been closed since 1996, such specimens are increasingly rare and mostly available only from old collections.
Provenance: This specimen comes from an old collection. The original collector’s label from March 13, 1998 (purchased in Outjo, Namibia) is included, providing excellent historical context and confirming its authenticity.
Aesthetics: The deep, saturated red hue provides a wonderful luster, with numerous crystal faces reflecting light from various angles, giving the piece a great "shelf presence."
Technical Data:
Mineral: Calcite with Hematite inclusions
Weight: 598 grams
Condition: Excellent cabinet specimen with sharp edges and a natural matrix on the reverse side.
