Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
An impressive and aesthetically pleasing specimen of Schorl (Black Tourmaline) from the famous Hunza Valley in the Gilgit-Baltistan region of Pakistan. This piece stands out due to its elongated, pillar-like growth and its deep black, vitreous luster.
The specimen consists of multiple parallel-grown, trigonal tourmaline crystals. The prism faces show the classic, sharp vertical striation (Ringspuren/Längsstreifung) typical for high-quality Schorl. Accompanying the black tourmaline are contrasting clusters of small, translucent to white Quartz crystals, which provide a beautiful "snow-on-rock" effect.
As noted on the original collector's label from 1999, these are classic three-sided (trigonal) columnar crystals. A powerful and highly decorative cabinet piece for collectors of pegmatite minerals.
