Ugo CLAUS (Trento 1899 - Merano 1985)
Ugo Claus, a valued painter and woodcut artist who moved to Merano, a drawing teacher at middle school, was born in Trento on November 1, 1899. After attending the Academy of Fine Arts in Venice, he moved to Merano. He learned the technique of woodcut on his own, establishing himself in this field with skill and talent and collaborating with various publishers. A delicate painter, since 1930 he has participated in numerous exhibitions both in Italy and abroad.

Inscription with description of where it was exhibited (Salon d’hiver in Paris) on the back.
Purchased from a collector in Bergamo.
