Sheet with margins over the print, on thick 19th-century paper, in very good condition (please see pictures).
At bottom left ‘Agostino Carracci inventò’, ‘Carlo Paroli disegnò 1809’ and ‘Pietro Vedovato incise’ (designed by Agostino Carracci, drawn by Carlo Paroli and ingraved by Pietro Vedovato). Further down is a dedication of the engraver to Podestà Giuseppe Vincenzo Bonfadini.
A copy made by Pietro Vedovato (1774-1847), Italian engraver from the Venice area, in the same direction as the original started by Agostino Carracci and completed, after his death, by Francesco Brizio (Malvasia).
It depicts St. Jerome Saint Jerome in profile, kneeling and contemplating the Crucifix in his left hand. In his right he holds a stone, at his feet is the cardinal's hat, in the background a rock and the sleeping lion.
