Signed movement citing Paris location, with fine decoration.
18 kt French gold case with engravings and enamel on the back.
Profuse and rich, typical neoclassical decoration with garlands of diamonds (rose cut and old cut).
White enamel dial has minor blemishes, Roman numerals and hands studded with rose cut diamonds.
42 mm in diameter and 58.3 g in weight.
Pierre Jodin, born in Geneva and based in Paris, was a renowned master watchmaker and the famous author of two treatises on the subject of watch mechanics in 1754 and 1755. See "Histoire Littèraire de Geneve par Jean Senebier" volume III (1784)
