Please note: Barthelemy de Chasseneuz was a 16th-century French lawyer who published a series of books on customary law that had an important influence on the Napoleonic codex. In addition to these works about law, he wrote this famous book whose main goal was French heraldry and ranks of society in the 15th century. This 1612 edition includes fascinating illustrations rich in coats of arms of different origins.
