Original Nalini cycling jersey
Yellow jersey Tour de France.
Team Deutsche Telekom, the team of Bjarne Riis and Jan Ullrich, among others.
Riis started in 1996 as an outsider for the final victory in the Tour, for which five-time winner Miguel Indurain was considered the biggest contender. Because there was snow on both the Col de l'Iseran and the Col du Galibier, the 190 km long stage from Val-d'Isère to Sestriere was shortened to 46 km from Le Monêtier-les-Bains, with Riis managing to win the yellow jersey. However, his young teammate at Team Telekom, Jan Ullrich, was rumoured to be better than the Dane and would have had to hold back in the closing time trial so as not to finish too close in the final classification. Riis became the first and so far only Danish Tour winner ever.
This jersey is an edition on the occasion of the victory in the 1996 Tour by Bjarne Riis.
