From a series of twelve etchings representing the Passion of Christ; the set was probably designed and engraved after Callot's return in Nancy, c.1624/25. A terminus ante quem is provided by a contract between Callot and Henriet dated 11 April 1631 about a series concerning the life of the Virgin, stating that the said series will have to be of the same quality as 'la petite Passion du Christ'.
With plate border and tread margins, on plate border near bottom left corner. Tipped with corners on a collection sheet. A good detailed impression.
