Savićević is best known for his stints as a player with Red Star Belgrade and AC Milan. With these clubs he won many prizes, including the Champions League. Savićević settled in Milan in the summer of 1992 at the age of 25. Ruud Gullit was the biggest victim of his arrival. Trainer-coach Fabio Capello increasingly preferred the Yugo slave. In the end, Savićević became the new number 10 of AC Milan. Under his leadership, Milan won the Final of the European Cup in Athens in the spring of 1994 at the expense of Barcelona's Johan Cruijff's Dream Team: 4-0. Savićević earns the nickname Il Genio ("The Genie") in Italy.
