Italien - Mitte der 1900er Jahre

Giuseppe Cappè, Capodimonte, ‘The Poetry’, ‘Allegoria della musica’, first model 1961, pair of white figurines with golden robes and bases. 240x140x100mm mm, 750g each.
Giuseppè Cappè was born in Milan in 1921, then moved to Lomagna (Lecco) where, in his workshop, near the porcelain manufacture, he created his works, appreciated all over the world, especially in America, where they conquered the market. Some of his works are in many private and museum collections today. Cappè was an artist who drew inspiration from the strands of the great Italian Baroque-Alexandrian folk tradition, of which the stuccos of Serpotta (Palermo) and the porcelain of Capodimonte are the most typical and well-known examples.
