Part of a series of 6 prints with Biblical women, after designs by Goltzius.
Saenredam was trained in the workshop of Hendrick Goltzius in Haarlem and later started his own workshop, where he continued to produce high-quality prints after Goltzius and Bloemaert, among others. At a young age, he was already recognized by van Mander in 1602 as an outstanding figure in Dutch engraving, as shown in this wonderful engraving.
