Engraving attributed to Johannes Wierix (1539-1620)
This is from the very rare work : Christi Jesu vitae admirabiliumque actionum speculum.
First issued in Antwerp in 1573. Only a dozen of copies known.(18?)
According to Mauquoy-hendrickx, the designs are by Gerard van Groeningen (1550-1599) The engraver Joan Wierix signed some of the plates. Most of the unsigned plates are also attributed to him, others to the workshop of Philips Galle. (1537-1612)

The engraving is from an edition by Joan Galle (1600-1676) and a state before removal of the Latin verses on the print in the last edition for Visscher in 1642.
The prints are rare, hard to find anywhere, only a dozen copies known. Not in British museum, not in the Rijksmuseum Amsterdam. Some bound with Divinarum nuptiarum conventa et acta'. See BM 2AA+,a.20.1 and 2AA+,a.20.2.
Condition: Good impression in the full sheet of watermarked laid paper with good margins.
