Antique painting, oil on canvas, dateable between the end of the XVII century and the early XVIII century, depicting an allegory of summer.
A refined and evocative work, whose surface is decidedly accurate and with passages of excellent quality, in which the artist displays great talent. The stylistic features suggest the attribution to an artist of the Venetian area and similar to the compositions of artists such as Pietro Liberi (Padua, 1605 - Venice, 1687) and his son Marco Liberi (1640 - post 1691).
In overall excellent condition, considering its age. There are some scattered restorations and some slight peeling of the surface, but nothing truly relevant. There are no conservation issues. The original canvas has a re-lining that does not seem to require further intervention. Fine craquelure consistent with the painting’s age. It looks like the stretcher was replaced when the painting was relined.
With a beautiful and recent frame, golden and decorated with leaves pattern.
Painting size: 65 x 81 cm. Frame size: 82 x 98 cm.
