Roero Arneis by Bruno Giacosa is one of the few whites produced by one of the most famous Langarole wineries, which stands out for its finesse and minerality. The name of Bruno Giacosa is intimately linked to the municipalities of Barbaresco and Barolo, by virtue of legendary liquids that defy time and evolve in renewed expressive modes. Not only red, however, since Bruno, a traditionalist but an experimenter, has always turned an eye to other types of wine such as sparkling and white wines, as in this case. The grapes come, as per established practice in the Langhe, from carefully selected suppliers and are then vinified with the utmost respect for the fruit.
The white Roero Arneis di Giacosa is an expression of pure Arneis, produced from grapes from carefully selected local suppliers. The vines from which the grapes come rest on soils composed of sandstone and marl, which give the liquid flavor and mineral hints. The vinification takes place with absolute respect for the grape and its expressiveness aimed at freshness, therefore both the fermentation, which occurs spontaneously, and the aging, take place in stainless steel containers. Short stop in glass before being put on the market.
The Roero Arneis wine is revealed in the glass with an intense and lively straw yellow color. Beautiful and emblematic nose, which unfolds in succession anything but didactic notes of acacia, hawthorn, yellow pulp fruit and delicate mineral lashes. The finesse that denotes the olfactory framework immediately invites you to taste. The sip combines freshness and pulp, recalling the mineral sensations felt on the nose with a concrete contribution of flavor. Splendid on not too demanding Piedmontese preparations, such as vitello tonnato and battuta di fassona, but also on delicate fish-based preparations.
