The work is signed on the bottom left by Schrijnder and comes directly from his estate.

Jo Schrijnder lived and worked in Druten, Haaksbergen, Nijmegen, Voorhout and Grootebroek.
Schrijnder is best known for his paintings that relate to hunting.
He also made ornaments, symbolic wall decorations and stained glass for, among other things, the town hall of Grootebroek where he was mayor.
His work is in collections of collectors and museums.
