Condition: Very good. Fine binding, hardly any signs of use. Top edge gilt. Endpapers split on the hinges but still firm. Interior clean and odourless. A very fine copy, rare in this condition.

‘Dr. William Edgar Geil (1865 - 1925) was an explorer, lecturer, photographer, and author of 10 books related to his travels. He lectured all over the world, illustrating his talks with lantern slides. He is believed to be the first American to have travelled the entire length of the 2,500-kilometer-long Ming section of the Great Wall of China.’
