The Dino range of sports car is named after Enzo Ferrari’s son - Alfredino - who designed a V6 engine with double top cam shaft before he died of muscular dystrophy at the age of 24.
Thanks to its mid engine the Dino had a near perfect weight distribution. The road handling proved fantastic and the Dino was as incredible to drive as it was to look at.
Even Sir Stirling Moss had a high opinion of the Dino, he said: “No other car I have driven gave me such a clear feeling that I wanted to race again... the worst thing was that after the test I had to return the car.”
