Art Nouveau baptismal medal signed by Oscar Roty, famous engraver of Franc Semeuse.
The obverse shows a virgin and her child.
The reverse features a branch of lily, the legend "VIRGO.SANCTA.PUERUM.CUSTODI", and an inscription and date "HENRI XAVIER 19 AUGUST 1918".
Two identical models in silver are part of the Musée Carnavalet collection in Paris and Musée d'Orsay.

Item of jewellery has the eagle's head hallmark on the pendant ring and has been acid tested as 18 kt gold, it also has the goldsmith's hallmark. Signed "Oscar Roty" on the obverse.
