Vom Verkäufer bereitgestellte Beschreibung
Soviet authentic two-sided parade banner of the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union (VLKSM), used by a school Komsomol organization. Such banners were awarded to educational institutions for exemplary ideological and social activity and served as a symbol of honor during official Soviet ceremonies.
Front side:
- Slogan: “Workers of the world, unite!”
- Large golden emblem of VLKSM with the portrait of Lenin
- Inscription: “Komsomol Organization of the School”
- Decorative golden fringe along the lower edge
Reverse side:
- A row of large printed Soviet orders (Order of Lenin, Order of the October Revolution, etc.)
- Inscription: “All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union”
Historical Background:
Parade banners of the VLKSM (the All-Union Leninist Communist Youth Union) were among the most recognizable symbols of the Soviet era. They were awarded to schools, factories, and youth collectives as a mark of distinction for active political, educational, and community work.
Such banners were typically used during:
- official school ceremonies and assemblies,
- May Day and November 7th demonstrations,
- Komsomol meetings and ideological events.
The School Komsomol Organization was an official youth structure that united students of the senior grades. Possessing such a banner was considered prestigious, symbolizing discipline, collective spirit, and ideological commitment.
Two-sided ceremonial banners decorated with golden fringe and printed emblems — like the one presented here — were usually produced by Soviet art and textile factories in the 1960s–1980s for use during official ceremonies and important public events.
Today, these banners represent a valuable historical artifact of Soviet propaganda culture and are sought after by collectors of:
- Cold War memorabilia,
- Communist and Soviet symbolism,
- educational and youth history of the USSR.
Condition:
The item shows signs of age:
- fading, stains, wear of gold printing
- minor fabric discoloration
- preserved original fringe
- Overall preserved in fair vintage condition—fully authentic and unrestored.
Dimensions: approx. 90 × 60 cm
