This Twergi cheese grater were designed by Alessandro Mendini and is in good condition. The Alessi cheese grater "Anna Cheese" works like a planer, with which it is possible to cut the cheese into thin strips. The round wooden knob makes it possible to keep the cheese grater "Anna Cheese" comfortable in the hand. The Anna head is a little bit loose, but still very good useful! - Twergi cheese grater - 13.4 x 11.4 x 9 cm Twergi, introduced in 1989, was a collection of wooden objects designed by Alessi's favourite designers (Branzi, Giovannoni, Graves, Venturi, etc.) and Sottsass and his young collaborators from 'Memphis'. In 1998, Twergi ceased to exist as a separate brand and more commercial products were added to the Alessi catalogue. Alessandro Mendini Alessandro was born in Milan in 1931. He has edited Casabella & Modo. He was awarded the prize Compasso d'Oro. He reinvented the Alessi image. He worked for companies like Philips, Swarovski & Swatch. He met Alberto Alessi in 1977 and worked with Alessi as creative director for four decades. Mendini gave a face, arms and a powder-blue dress to the bestselling Alessi bottle opener that he named after a friend. Later, he created a self-portrait in the form of the Alessandro M corkscrew. At the other end of the scale he was the architect – though orchestrator is a better description – of the monumental Groninger Museum in the Netherlands, which opened in 1994.
