Beautiful specimen of a pyritized ammonite of the genus Crucilobiceras, from the Lower Jurassic of England. While this species is usually small, this particular ammonite measures 4.4 cm, making it exceptionally large for the genus and thus highly desirable. The fossil sits in its original matrix, which enhances the metallic luster of the pyrite and gives it a completely natural appearance. The preservation of sutures and whorls is excellent, making this piece both scientifically significant and aesthetically striking. Species: Crucilobiceras sp.
