This is the original 1852 first edition of : “Der Tabak und sein Anbau. Nebst einem Anhang über die Cultur und Behandlung des Tabaks in Holland” (“Tobacco and Its Cultivation. With an Appendix on the Culture and Treatment of Tobacco in Holland”), a rare 19th century German agricultural handbook on tobacco growing.
The appendix by Ph. Schwab: "Tobacco in Holland" focuses on Dutch cultivation methods, processing techniques unique to the Netherlands and regional differences in quality and market practices
Binding with some wear. Fly-leaves with Hebrew Ex Library stamp, first fly-leaf 3 cm detached from hinges, title-page with old name, some foxing on title-page and occasional other pages.
With 14 lithographed plates and a multi-folding map of the countries where tobacco is grown.
