Description:
This is a rectangular lacquered wooden box with a warm amber-brown finish and a highly visible wood-grain pattern. The surface has a glossy coating that gives the box a rich, golden tone, especially under light.
The lid is decorated with two raised relief motifs. The larger front motif appears to depict a stag beetle / kuwagata design, rendered in dark red-brown and black lacquer. Behind it is a smaller black medallion-like motif with stylized characters or an emblem. The combination gives the box a bold, slightly playful insect-themed design while still keeping a traditional lacquerware feeling.
The interior is also beautifully finished, with the same warm lacquer and pronounced grain pattern. The box has rounded corners and a fitted lid, suggesting it could be used as a small storage box, document box, accessory box, or decorative display piece.
