The two spelter vases with double patina, in the art nouveau style, signed Aug. Moreau
Each of these vases features highly detailed angel figures and decorations , emerging from the vase side as part of the floral and organic motif typical of the Art Nouveau period.
The craftsmanship highlights the intricate details and textures, especially in the decorative elements of the vases. These pieces are relevant for their artistic value, their representation of the Art Nouveau style, and their association with Louis Moreau.

In very good condition, only some tiny chips at the marble base

Auguste Moreau(1834-1917) was a French sculptor known for winning many awards during his career and being one of the pillars of the Art Nouveau style.His allegorical Art Nouveau works often depicted women, children, cherubs, and historical figures adorned with floral motifs and ornaments, and were influential to other artists working at the time. Born in Dijon, France to a celebrated family of sculptors, he regularly exhibited his work at the Paris Salon from 1861 on. The artist died in 1917 in France.
