Title 2010 Schloss Lieser, Thomas Haag, Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel – VDP Grosse Lage – 6 Half Bottles (0.375 L) – No Reserve Price Subtitle Rare Goldkapsel from a top Mosel Grand Cru vineyard. Legendary 2010 vintage. Perfect provenance. No reserve price. Description We proudly present six half bottles of 2010 Schloss Lieser Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese Goldkapsel. This is one of the most sought-after sweet wines of the Mosel, produced by Thomas Haag, one of Germany’s most celebrated winemakers. The Goldkapsel selection represents the highest Auslese quality level at the estate, produced only in exceptional vintages and in extremely limited quantities. These bottles were shipped directly from Schloss Lieser and stored in the OHMS Connoisseurs Choice professional facility. Labels, capsules, and fill levels are pristine. The Winery Schloss Lieser is one of the leading estates of the Mosel. After Thomas Haag took over the historic winery in the 1990s, he transformed it into one of Germany’s elite producers. His focus on meticulous hand selection, low yields, spontaneous fermentation, and strict vineyard management allowed Schloss Lieser to reach top rankings in all major German wine guides. Haag has been awarded Winemaker of the Year by leading publications and holds Germany’s highest producer classifications. Schloss Lieser is a proud member of the VDP, the Verband Deutscher Prädikatsweingüter, which represents the highest commitment to terroir-driven winemaking. The Vineyard Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr is officially classified as VDP Grosse Lage, the highest designation for German vineyards. This steep south-facing slope of blue Devonian slate produces Riesling of exceptional finesse, minerality, and longevity. Sonnenuhr is the warmest and most prized parcel within the Brauneberger hillside, known for producing world-class noble-sweet Rieslings in outstanding vintages. Its name originates from the historic sundial placed on the slope in the nineteenth century, marking the ripest and most privileged section of the vineyard. Goldkapsel At Schloss Lieser, the Goldkapsel designation is reserved only for the most concentrated Auslese selections, typically made from berries affected by perfect noble rot. These wines show higher extract, deeper aromatics, and greater longevity than standard Auslese. Production is very limited, and Goldkapsel bottlings are highly sought after by collectors. The Vintage 2010 is widely regarded as one of the greatest Mosel vintages of the modern era for noble-sweet wines. Very low yields, cool conditions, and exceptionally high natural acidity created wines of monumental concentration and razor-sharp precision. Botrytis was of ideal quality, allowing top estates such as Schloss Lieser to produce Beerenauslese and Auslese Goldkapsel of exceptional depth, purity, and longevity. Tasting Profile Bright golden colour. Aromas of honey, ripe apricot, quince, candied citrus, and classical slate minerality. The palate is rich, silky, and concentrated with layers of exotic fruit, honeycomb, ripe stone fruit, and the electrifying acidity that defines the 2010 vintage. Long, pure, and persistent finish with exceptional clarity and balance. A reference example of Mosel Auslese Goldkapsel. Wine Critic Scoring Auslese Goldkapsel from Schloss Lieser in the 2010 vintage typically receives very high critical praise. Leading German wine critics and international reviewers generally rate these wines in the mid to high 90s, noting exceptional concentration, purity of fruit, perfect acidity-sweetness balance, and monumental aging potential. Comparable 2010 Schloss Lieser Sonnenuhr wines often show community ratings around 94 to 96 points, confirming the reputation of this vintage as one of the most important sweet-wine years of the last decades. Drinking Window 2015 to 2055 and beyond. Already showing early complexity but built for very long-term aging. Condition and Provenance Direct estate provenance. Stored professionally in the OHMS Connoisseurs Choice cellar. Pristine labels, perfect capsules, and high fill levels. Shipping European Union via DPD Rest of Europe via EMS Worldwide shipments via DHL Fully insured, professionally packed, and handled with reinforced wine-safe materials.
