Description from the seller
Lot of 3 Decorative Metal Art Objects (Copper and Brass)
The lot consists of a refined handmade European artisan ice/champagne bucket and two finely worked Oriental vases.
1. Ice Bucket "Martelé à la Main"
Material: Solid copper with ring handles in darkened metal (iron or bronze).
Technique: Hand hammering. The exterior surface features the characteristic "honeycomb" texture achieved through individual hammer blows, giving the object a faceted luster.
Marks/Stamp: The base bears the oval stamp "MARTELÉ À LA MAIN" (Hammered by hand), typical of mid-century European artisan production (France/Belgium).
Style: Mid-Century Modern / Luxury Rustic.
Era: About 1950-1970.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition, with beautiful natural patina and minimal signs of use attesting to its originality.
2. Incised Copper Oriental Vase (Floral Motif)
Material: Copper with engraved decorations and contrasting inlays (likely patination or silver).
Details: Three-dimensional decoration with botanical motifs, tendrils of leaves and flowers. The baluster form is classic of ornamental metalwork.
Origin: Indo-Persian area (India/Pakistan).
Era: Second half of the 20th century.
3. Multicolored Brass and Copper Vase (Bidri/Geometries Style)
Material: Brass and copper alloy with white metal inlays (Ganga-Jumna style).
Details: Geometric banded decoration with graphic and abstract engravings. Color play from the contrast of different metals.
Origin: India.
Era: Second half of the 20th century.
