Labelled Paul Serdet - 4/4 - - Violin - Unknown

Extremely beautiful 4/4 violin, with the label PAUL SERDET 1903 No. 65 and a brand stamp on the inner back. The instrument was probably built by this maker and is in good condition. All small signs of aging and minor damage are documented photographically. The violin had a small crack below the right f-hole that was repaired and stabilized from the inside. The instrument is built with good wood, spruce top, and a two-piece flamed maple back, the fingerboard is ebony. The violin weighs 440 g, with a total length of 59.1 cm, the body length 35.8 cm, the upper bout width 16.7 cm, the middle width 11.3 cm and the lower width 20.9 cm, fitting quite closely to the measurements of Paul Serdet in 1903. The violin has a new bridge, as well as a new set of strings, and is fully ready to play. It has a good, balanced and harmonious sound, in all treble and bass ranges.
