Description from the seller
MALLORCA is a 70x100 cm painting by contemporary artist Ernest García. In this work there is a scene of luminous contemplation, where the architecture frames the landscape and the landscape, in turn, envelops the figure. Two blue doors open, functioning as a symbolic threshold: they not only lead to the sea, but also to the experience of summer, travel, and pause.
In the center, a woman with her back to us gazes at the horizon. Her intense yellow dress, speckled with organic motifs in greens and blues, vibrates against the deep blue of the Mediterranean Sea. The wide-brimmed hat adds an air of timeless elegance, evoking a classic postcard of the island.
The composition is carefully balanced: the doors create a solid vertical frame that contrasts with the horizontality of the sea and the line of mountains in the background. The small white boats scattered on the water provide rhythm and depth, guiding the eye toward the horizon. Light is the protagonist. It is reflected on the ceramic floor, on the white railing, and on the water, creating a clear, fresh, and serene atmosphere. The visible brushstrokes maintain the vitality of the gesture, imparting movement to both the sky and the sea.
More than a landscape, the work conveys a feeling: the stillness of the moment before leaving, the contemplative silence before the blue infinity. It is a painting about summer, freedom, and the desire to keep looking a little longer.
