Description from the seller

Here is an official poster by Valerio Adami (blue version) for the edition of the famous French tennis tournament Roland-Garros in 1980.

From 1980, the organizers of Roland-Garros asked renowned artists to design the poster for the French International Tennis Championships. It is the Italian Valerio Adami who, for the 1980 edition, creates the first poster—or rather the first ones since he proposes a poster with three different background colors: red, green and blue.

The Italian artist, born in 1935, is a prominent representative of the Narrative Figuration movement, on par with Jacques Monory, Eduardo Arroyo, or Erró. His style, composed of flat areas of color outlined by thick black contours, is comparable to the clear line of comics.

This poster is signed on the plate and printed on coated paper.
It is a first edition.

Dimensions: 75 x 57 cm

Printer: Imprimerie moderne du Lion de Paris

Condition: Some handling marks, notably at the top-left corner and bottom-right. See photos for details.

Tracked shipping, extremely well protected
