Antique apothecary pill rolling board with matching roller in wood and brass. Used for hand-forming pills prior to industrial pharmaceutical production. Typical late 19th century example (circa 1860–1890).
The set consists of a grooved board and a matching roller, used to form evenly sized pills from medicinal paste. A functional tool from historical pharmacy practice, now primarily collectible.
Comparable examples of 19th century apothecary pill rollers are documented in historical collections, including English local history societies such as the Littleport & District Historical Society.
