Description from the seller
Striptease at Night
Original screenprint by Francesc Artigau Seguí (Barcelona, 1940), a key figure of contemporary Catalan art, painter, draftsman and printmaker with international reach.
Trained at the School of Fine Arts of Sant Jordi in Barcelona, he taught at the EINA school and at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Barcelona for more than two decades.
His work features in the most important collections of contemporary Catalan art and has been exhibited in museums and institutions across Europe.
Limited edition numbered 90/320, signed and dated in pencil: Artigau 76 (1976).
Composition of great narrative, erotic and chromatic richness in a Pop Art key: a female figure in the process of undressing occupies the center of the scene, treated in black and intense orange with a language between striptease and dance, in an bourgeois interior with a nocturnal window open to the moon and a male figure observing from the darkness.
Multiple secondary figures in terracotta and black populate the margins with great dynamism and a sense of visual rhythm, creating a composition with a strong symbolic charge and voyeurism.
Palette of orange, cobalt blue, brown and black with strong visual impact.
Fine silver frame with white margin.
Good overall condition, typical of a work more than four decades old and well preserved.
The reverse presents the original protective cardboard.
The work will be sent carefully protected and packaged, ready to hang.
Collectors of Spanish graphic works, Catalan Pop Art, screen print edition limited, human figure, nudity, erotic art, Artigau, Catalan art of the 70s, signed screen print, numbered limited edition.
