“Pentinat” is an abstract sculpture by Pedro Paredes, carved in Carrara marble. The work presents organic, curvilinear forms that intertwine with fluidity, creating a dynamic volume. The polished surface of the white marble highlights the smooth transitions and the subtle natural nuances of the stone. A central void perforates the mass, generating a play of light and shadow that enhances the depth and continuous movement of the piece. The composition evokes a sense of harmony and balance through its sinuous contours.
Pedro Paredes Carcelén is a sculptor whose career unites tradition, craft, and material exploration. Hailing from a family linked to blacksmithing, he has developed a body of work focused on wood, iron, and, more recently, stone and marble. His recent training includes the Stone and Wood Sculpture Course at Escola Massana - Massana Permanent, in Barcelona (2023 and 2024), and a specialization in marble sculpture in Val di Castello, Tuscany, Italy (2025), experiences that consolidate his sculptural language and interest in solidity, texture, and the expression of materials. Among his recent exhibitions stand out Atelier Riu - Sculpture, Barcelona (2023), Sun Ranxx 2025, Cunit, Tarragona (2025), Sala La Salita - La Mujer, Gijón, Asturias (2026), and the collective at Sala Abartium, Vic, Barcelona (2026).
